I thought I was renting a scooter. Turns out I accidentally met the island's nicest human! From the very first message, he was incredibly friendly and helpful. Somewhere between picking up the keys after a long trip by bus and ferry and asking for restaurant recommendations, we somehow became friends. He knows everything that happens on the island and especially with his scooter. He also knew that I would stay longer on the island, and I did, actually 2 weeks, of course with a scooter from the rental shop. Need a beautiful beach? He knew it. Best local food? He had a list. Where to stay? He had the perfect recommendation. Random question at an odd hour? He replied before I could even start overthinking it. I honestly don't know if he ever sleeps! By the end of the trip, he wasn't just the guy I rented a scooter from-he was my local guide, travel planner, problem solver, and someone I genuinely enjoyed talking to. And the scooter? My loyal little adventure buddy. It climbed hills, explored hidden corners of the island, survived my questionable navigation skills, and never complained once.
