Unbelievable experience, so glad I booked with the rental shop. I had the motorbike for nearly a month and visited every area of the mainland, including Langkawi. Absolutely amazing trip. It hurt my heart a little to return it. The motorbike - I rented the Himalayan. Great choice for a long trip with the hard cases. Bike is kitted with street tires but is still an ADV, so it was capable on the highways as well as the occasional gravel/ dirt. Might want to look at a smaller one if you're staying in the KL area, as it's wide and you won't be able to lane filter with the little scooters everywhere. The motorbike is modern and well maintained. The company was an incredible resource as a solo traveler. We chatted some for 2 months before my trip, and often during it. He helped me map my routes, suggested stops, and was always available to chat about anything I needed guidance with. As someone from the US who had never visited a SEA country before, this gave me such peace of mind to fully appreciative the adventure. My only warning to visitors is to not stay too long - you'll start trying to figure out to move here permanently.
