Good morning. I recently rented a Honda Goldwing for four days. The bike might not be my cup of tea from the outside, as I love cruisers and choppers, but the handling is like a Mercedes on two wheels for me. 🙂 The bike is a year old, so there's nothing to complain about; everything worked and hummed as it should, except for the bald front tire that was a bit embarrassing in the rain. The rental company itself was also good; I praised it on the trip and was considering taking a trip to Spain in the winter. But when I was dropping off the bike, I think the owner, a guy in a white collar, shot himself in the foot with a marketing ploy. 🫣. I would have expected him to offer me coffee rather than try to rip me off for 100 złoty for 2 liters of fuel. Sure, that was in the contract, but seriously, I rented a motorcycle for 2300 złoty, and he thought I was trying to rip him off for 20 złoty. And that's what happened. Coming back from Białystok near Radzymin, 30 km from the rental base, it starts to rain. I stop at a gas station to put on rain gear and fill up the tank, using the kickstand instead of pumping it up a few times, usually until I'm out of breath. Then I drive in the rain to return the bike, because I called and another customer is waiting. When I arrive, it's still raining, so I hide it under cover and undress. At first, the guy even makes a nice conversation. After a few minutes, however, he says it's not full and whether we're charging a penalty fee or filling it up myself. I'm serious, I rent cars and motorcycles all over the world and I've never had a problem like this. So I get dressed again and drive to the station in the rain, fill up two liters, and return. The guy doesn't wait for me anymore; he sends an employee. I was so happy to say goodbye to the young man, and the boss didn't even blink. So, I'm not sure whether to recommend it or not. I'm curious about these trips to Spain and the real comments afterward. Because, you know, comments can be bought, or they can be deleted. Either way, it's a shame, because it could have been nice.
