Pichincha is a city in Ecuador that is located in the Pichincha Canton of the Manabí Province. It is around 138kms from the coast and 274kms from the capital of Ecuador Quito. The main feature of the city is the River Daule, which runs along the border of the provinces Manabí and the Guayas. All you need to do is cross the river, and you will be in a whole new territory. Pichincha is a gorgeous green with many stunning natural features like waterfalls and forests. Indeed it is situated on the edge of the Amazon rainforest. It is a great setting for anyone who wants to do a little exploring of the area while remaining safe at one of the hostels. A great thing to do while there is to hire a motorcycle. This allows you to go off the beaten track and explore a little of the rainforest. You can traverse some of the great tracks and trails without too much difficulty and still find your way back to the city with ease. There are also plenty of hidden restaurants and sightseeing spots like churches that you can discover while exploring this stunning landscape by motorbike. A great adventure would be to take a boat trip down the Daule rover and marvel at the breathtaking beauty of the landscape all around you. If you travel to Pichincha, you will be experiencing something completely different. It is not like the build-up and touristy places you may be used to. It is a place for adventure.
