Hiring a motorbike in Funchal

Madeira is an archipelago of four islands off the northwest coast of Morocco belonging to Portugal. It offers sun, sea and sand – everything that you could possibly want from a motorcycle tour. Madeira has a subtropical climate. The main island is volcanic, green and has high cliffs that offer fantastic photo opportunities. The capital is Funchal and plays host to hotels, a harbor for accessing the islands by boat, and regular firework displays. Once you arrive on Madeira, your first task is to explore the island’s spectacular terrain. To the east, you’ll find the Ponta de São Lourenço nature reserve. This area features volcanic rocks that have an unusual reddish hue, On Madeira’s south coast, you’ll find the somewhat unusual Skywalk. The development is 580 meters above sea level and offers spectacular views from the cliff above across the ocean. It’s also free. If you fancy leaving your motorcycle behind and challenging yourself, you might want to attempt to summit the 1,862-meter Pico Ruivo – Madeira’s highest peak. Just be warned, the excursion will take you at least six hours, probably more. Getting around Madeira is relatively easy, so its a good idea to consider a quad hire, motorcycle hire or a scooter hire. The roads are not congested, but it can sometimes be challenging handling a car around steep ascents. You can also take the cable car that runs along part of the island. Be sure to stop off at Monte Palace Tropical Garden where you will find the former Palace Hotel.
